Today I was reminded to Stop2Pray for someone who is far from God. Who did you Stop2Pray for?

When Someone I Love is Far From God

Dear Lord, how grateful I am to know You and know the love You have for me. But I want—more than anything—for the one I love to have that same relationship. I’m overwhelmed by her confusion about who You are. I know that buried deep inside her is the truth, but it’s overlaid by doubts and lies. 

Dig that truth out of her heart and let her see it clearly. Show her plainly what is a lie and what is not. Put a desire in her heart to investigate all that she’s heard about You. I know that You will reveal Yourself to her when she searches.

Put people around her who know You and know Your truth. Let their lives be an example of Your love. Don’t let her get sidetracked with irrelevant issues, but keep her focused on learning the truth about You.

Most of all, protect her from all who would seek to compound the lies she’s heard. Lord, I know You love her even more than me. Let me rest in that knowledge and keep my mouth shut until I’m certain it’s Your Spirit urging me to speak. Amen

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Prayer for the Fathers in Our Lives

There are so many men who assume the father role in our lives—some for a moment, some for a season, some for a lifetime. This is my prayer for them today:

Dear Lord, today I ask for a blessing on all the fathers in my life. These precious men have stood by me, encouraging me throughout my life. You’ve used them to mold me and shape me into the person I am today. You’ve also used them to impact hundreds of others.

Today give them a glimpse of the influence they’ve had. Let them see into the spiritual and look at the way You have used their lives to impact Your kingdom.

Remind them that perfection was never the goal, only following you with a sincere heart. Show them where they’ve done that well.

Some of these men are at the end of life. Some are incredibly weary, wondering if they’ve mattered at all. Use others around them to speak Your truth about the blessings they’ve been to so many.

Most of all, bring them to my mind so that I can thank them, pray for them, and most of all love them with a heart set on you. Amen

Stop 2 Pray

Prayer is a tricky thing. We often feel inadequate and embarrassed wen we're called on to pray in front of someone, and I'm no different.

But I'm learning.

Truthfully prayer isn't about us, it's about a relationship. It's an ongoing conversation with God. And through that conversation, we grow closer to Him. Conversely, when we neglect that conversation, it feels like we're farther away from him. He hasn't moved, but we're not engaged.

So I've decided to become more deliberate about prayer in my own life, and I'm sharing my journey with you.
